This isn't a new idea. SMB Accelerator grew organically out of HelpGrowUSA, an economic development initiative started by Chris Sacchinelli in 2016 — a decade of purpose spent building a better small business backbone.

Four beliefs we won't compromise on.

    Main Street is the largest underserved market on earth.

    33+ million small businesses in the U.S. alone. Half of all private employment. The economic backbone of every town — and the most ignored customer in modern software, capital, and education.

    Silicon Valley got accelerators. Main Street got left out.

    Y Combinator built the playbook for 0.001% of founders. The other 99.999% — the bakers, mechanics, contractors, clinics, and shopkeepers — were handed a Square reader and a content marketing blog. That ends now.

  3. Belief 03

    AI is the great divider — or the great equalizer.

    Within 5 years, owners with agentic operating systems will out-earn, out-hire, and out-survive owners without them. We refuse to let the corner store lose to a hedge-fund roll-up because nobody taught the owner what's possible.

  4. Belief 04

    Profitable, transferable businesses build generational wealth.

    A durable Main Street business sold or transferred at fair value is the single greatest wealth-creation event most families will ever see. We exist to make that the norm — not the exception.

What we won't do — no matter the check size.

  • We won't sell owner data, lists, or attention. The trust of the operator is the asset — not the inventory.
  • We won't host vendor pitch-fests dressed up as cohorts. Every minute on stage is earned by outcomes, not sponsorship tier.
  • We won't recommend tools we wouldn't run our own business on. The Shop is curated, not auctioned.
  • We won't dilute the program to chase scale. One world-class day for real owners beats ten generic webinars for nobody.
